Clinical Case Management System (Typhon)
MTSA utilizes Typhon, a clinical case management and evaluation software platform, to track student progress at clinical sites. Students are required to log all clinical experiences in Typhon within seven calendar days of the procedure date.
Additionally, students must:
Upload written anesthesia management plans as external documents to Typhon by the last Thursday of Week 9 each semester.
Monitor their own evaluation completion, clinical days, and evaluation scores within the platform.
Review structured feedback from clinical preceptors regarding performance domains, including Patient Safety, Perianesthesia, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Professionalism.
The Clinical Support Office and the Assistant Program Administrator for Clinical Education monitor Typhon records regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with COA requirements.
Secure Didactic Assessment Platform (ExamSoft)
MTSA utilizes ExamSoft, a secure assessment platform, to deliver didactic examinations and track student academic performance. The platform allows for the categorization of assessment items to monitor student progress across key competency areas. Students are required to download all scheduled examinations to their approved testing device at least one hour prior to the scheduled exam start time.
Additionally, students must:
Ensure testing devices meet minimum system requirements, are at least 50 percent charged, and have a power source available (bring charger/power source).
Prior to starting the program, students are required to complete an ExamSoft assessment through the MTSA Student Resource Hub. This requirement ensures technical readiness with the Examplify platform and verifies familiarity with orientation content before the first semester begins.
Maintain a secure testing environment by removing all bags, books, cell phones, and smartwatches from the testing area; devices must remain flat on the desk at all times.
Immediately notify the proctor or instructor of any technical or software issues by raising their hand without pressing additional buttons or changing device settings. Note: The software saves progress locally every 60 seconds to protect data integrity during hardware or power interruptions.
Verify a successful “Green Screen” upload with the proctor or instructor before leaving the classroom.
The Program Administration and faculty monitor ExamSoft records regularly to ensure academic integrity and compliance with program assessment requirements.
