Clinical Rotations

MTSA is committed to enriching students’ educational experiences through diverse clinical opportunities. To support this goal, students are required to attend clinical rotations at sites assigned by the institution. These assignments are subject to change based on availability and institutional needs.

Recognizing the value of partnerships with a variety of healthcare facilities, MTSA places students at clinical sites both locally, in the Nashville area, and out-of-state sites. All students should be prepared to rotate through multiple affiliated institutions to gain comprehensive clinical exposure.

MTSA reserves the right to modify clinical affiliations, rotation schedules, and duration of assignments as necessary. While changes may occur, students will be provided with as much advance notice as possible to support their planning and preparation.

Students may be scheduled at any existing or future affiliated clinical site, both locally and at out-of-area/state sites. Preferences for out-of-area sites will be considered and scheduled accordingly when possible. Remaining sites will be assigned without preference for student residence location or personal situation. Rotation swaps that do not affect the schedule of other students and the overall case/practice type mix of the requesting student will be considered, but are not guaranteed.

Please note that MTSA does not provide student stipends for clinical rotations. Additionally, a clinical fee will be assessed at the beginning of the sixth semester. For more information, refer to the Financial Aid section.
