Nurse Anesthesia can be a stressful profession, and individuals who develop healthy mental health care habits as students are more likely to continue these habits as practitioners.
Mental health counseling can help students learn the skills needed to maintain a healthy and balanced life, as well as manage the stress that is often associated with the nurse anesthesia profession and life as a graduate student.
MTSA partners with community-based mental health providers to support students who request or are referred for counseling and mental wellness services. Through these partnerships, eligible students may receive a limited number of counseling sessions at no cost.
Availability of counseling services may vary for students residing outside Tennessee due to state licensure and telehealth regulations. MTSA will work with students to identify available resources whenever possible.
All graduate students are also eligible for counseling through Grad Resources, which provides up to 3 counseling sessions free of cost for graduate students through Better Help.
