Senior Day

Prior to beginning their Senior Elective rotation, all students are required to attend Senior Day, which is held on campus. Senior Day is the final scheduled on-campus event before graduation and serves as a formal transition-to-practice checkpoint for graduating students.

Senior Day includes the following components:

  • National Certification Examination (NCE) Preparation: Students receive information and guidance regarding the NCE application process, eligibility requirements, and preparation resources to support their transition to certification as a CRNA.

  • Graduation Information: Students receive information regarding graduation ceremony logistics, degree conferral requirements, and any outstanding program completion requirements.

  • Transition to CRNA Practice: Students receive information regarding professional requirements, licensure, and the responsibilities of entering independent nurse anesthesia practice.

  • Doctoral Student Learning Outcome Achievement Verification: Each student receives a complete, individualized Doctoral Student Learning Outcome Achievement Report reflecting their documented achievement status across all applicable domains. The student reviews the report, provides formal written confirmation of agreement with the results, and documents any outcomes for which they believe their achievement has not been accurately captured. This confirmation is reviewed by program leadership before program completion.

Attendance at Senior Day is mandatory. Students who are unable to attend due to an emergency must contact the Program Director in advance to make alternative arrangements. All Senior Day requirements, including the Doctoral Student Learning Outcome Achievement Confirmation, must be completed prior to graduation.
